The Asexual's Guide
to writing like you're not
A collection of slash guides, mostly focusing on gay slash since I am gay. I'll try to dig up some fem slash guides but the sapphs don't have their guides blasted across the internet quite like Minotaur's. Some of these were also written many years ago and do not cater to today's sensitivities or sensibilities.
Also, because it's for slash, it often involves the lengthy discuss of poles and holes. It's gross, it's dirty, it's sex. People also have STRONG opinions about how they like their sex much like how people like their eggs. I personally prefer mine runny and think scrambled is a sin, so adjust to taste! It is your fiction!
Those defined as children by their governing laws, come back when you're old enough.

Slasher’s Guide to Gay Sex:
one gay man’s perspective
"
This post is meant to help female slashers in writing gay sex.
This post reflects no more than my most humble opinion, and it’s completely up to you whether to listen to me or not. But I think that hearing me out won’t hurt fandom in any way.

Minotaur's sex tips
for slash writers
"
So I bet you're asking yourself, just who does this guy think he is, anyway? Setting himself up as an expert on gay sex, offering his opinions on books and movies, and thinking he can answer all your questions.
Well, he's a thirty-something gay man, who's lived basically his entire life in the gay community.

FSR vs. Minotaur
"
But there is a Minotaur’s guide that seems to be accepted in fandom as though it contains all the *correct* answers. When I made my first post on the topic some people said things like: ‘Why you’re bothering? There’s a Minotaur’s guide. Haven’t you heard of it?’
...
In this post I’ll try to show that not everything Minotaur says in his guide is 100% truth.

Lewd Vocabulary
In Erotic Fanfiction
"
Included in this survey were a series of questions aiming to discover preferred English lewd vocabulary choices for use by romance and erotica writers.
Respondents from a variety of social media sites (and readers of all types of erotica) were asked to complete the survey erring towards choices they found not only acceptable but also sexy. In turn, this reveals which erotic terms are widely liked, disliked, or divisive, and also sheds light on other preferences that erotica readers hold.

5 Things I Wish I’d Known
About Writing Lesbian Erotica
"
I love writing about desire between women. It’s a delight and also a privilege – how many women throughout history ever got a chance to do that? Living at a time when silly, joyful lesbian smut can be shared between writers and readers around the globe is pretty remarkable.
But there are a few things I wish I’d known first about taking the plunge on writing erotic lesbian fiction.

The entire host site is full of useful advice about everything sapphic in writing, but this is a great jumping point.
